Formally "The United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland". Great Britain comprises England, Scotland, Wales. The UK situated off the western coast of mainland Europe. It is a representative democracy governed from its capital, London. It is also a member of the European Union and NATO. The head of state is the monarch, presently Queen Elizabeth II.
