I strive for:

• meaningful topics and questions to which the students can relate;
• student engagement with the class (e.g., per-class reflections on excellent readings);
• active classroom (e.g., pair-and-share and collaboration);
• and meta cognition (e.g., self-assessment, mnemonics, best practices).

I maintain a list of Learning and Teaching best practices – and I list of reminders for myself.
