Warm-up!

Introduction

When done alone, these exercises can help you prepare for a strong, dynamic, and relaxed performance.

When done together, they can help us dissipate our nervous tension.

The McConaughey mantra

Shake it out

  1. Stand with your feet shoulder-width apart and relax your body.
  2. Shake your arms loosely at your sides, allowing them to swing freely.
  3. Gradually increase the intensity of the swings, flinging your arms about.
  4. Continuing with your arms, start to shake your entire body.
  5. Keep shaking for about 30 seconds to a minute, focusing on releasing any tension in your muscles.

Posture and projection .revealjs:

posture reset
  1. Stand with your back against the wall, pressing your head and neck into the wall and clasping your hands behind your back.
  2. Release and stand in a relaxed stance, with the crown of your head floating up toward the sky and your shoulders down and back.
  3. Imagine your voice is coming from your chest, not your mouth. Speak as if you are talking to someone at the back of the room, not the front.
