back to [[Summary Statistics]] -- [[Central Tendency]] Given a set of data, X={x_{1}, x_{2}, ..., x_{n}} and corresponding weights, W={w_{1}, w_{2}, ..., w_{n}} the weighted mean is calculated as *Weighted mean = ( w_{1}x_{1}+ w_{2}x_{2}+ ... + w_{n}x_{n}) / ( w_{1}+ w_{2}+ ... + w_{n}) Note that if all the weights are equal, the weighted mean is the same as the [[Arithmetic Mean]]. ---- [[Dick Beldin]]
