South_America

A continent crossed by the equator, with most of its surface south of it. It's situated between the Pacific Ocean and the Atlantic Ocean It became attached to North America only recently (in geological timescales). It was first inhabited by

humans crossing the Bearing Pass, now a strait, though

there are suggestions of part of its population having migrated

using the southern pacific ocean.

Since the XVI century to the early XIX century, it was formed by

colonies of mainly Spain and Portugal, now several

republics compose it.
