South_America
A continent crossed by the equator, with most of its surface south of it. It's situated between the Pacific Ocean and the Atlantic Ocean It became attached to North America only recently (in geological timescales). It was first inhabited by
humans crossing the Bearing Pass, now a strait, though
there are suggestions of part of its population having migrated
using the southern pacific ocean.
Since the XVI century to the early XIX century, it was formed by
colonies of mainly Spain and Portugal, now several
republics compose it.
