Numerology

Numerology is the study of numbers! The name, birthdate and birthtime are

used to analyse and define the psychology of an individual, by allocating

specific numbers to the letters of the alphabet. It’s basis - that

everything has a vibration, even if we can’t see it - like a soprano hitting

a high note which shatters a glass or the dog whistle - which only the

dog can hear.

Scientists believe there is no evidence to substantiate the authenticity of

Numerology and call it a pseudo (false science.

Historians believe that modern numerology is an integration of the

teachings from Ancient Babylonia, Pythagoras and his followers, (6 th.

Century B.C. Greece) Astrological philosophy from Hellenistic Alexandria,

early Christian mysticism, the occultism of the early Gnostics and the

Hebrew system of the Kabala. The Indian Vedas, the Chinese "Circle of the

Dead",and the Egyptian "Book of the Master of the Secret House", (Ritual of

the Dead) are records that prove that Numerology dates back thousands of

years Pythagoras the father of numbers was born on the Island of Samos. At

a very early age he travelled to Mesoptamia and Egypt where he acquired the

basis of his knowledge.Political unrest necessitated the move to Crotona, in

Southern Italy where he founded his second University. The doctrines of this

cultural center, were bound by very strict rules of conduct. His school was

open to men, as well as women students and excluded any discriminatory

conduct. His students included all races and colour no matter what religion

or financial circumstance.

History has documented that the doctrines of the Pythagorean school,

has definitely had a profound effect on philosophy throughout the ages -

even to this present day, and was based on mathematics, music and astronomy.

He believed that mathematics could exist without music and astronomy but

nothing could exist without numbers. His teachings encompassed, not only the

investigation into the self, but into the whole Universe. Pythagorus became

the founder of modern mathematics, musical theory, philosophy and the

science of health.(hygiene)

Pythagorus and other philosophers of the time, believed that because

mathematical concepts are more practical than physical ones they have

greater actuality. An idea in harmony with philosophical pragmatism and a

choice for permanent concepts over changeable physicality.

St. Augustine in A.D. 35 - ? wrote " Numbers are the Universal

language offered by the deity to humans as confirmation of the truth."

Similar to Pythagorus, he too believed that everything , has numerical

relationships and it is up to the mind to seek and investigate their secrets

or have them revealed by divine grace

In 325 A.D. every departure from the beliefs of the state Church was classed

as a state violation. Therefore through this religious purging , the

spiritual significance of the sacred numbers began to disappear. In spite

of this suppression there were still many devout believers, who kept the

sacred knowledge locked away.

Through empirical observation and investigation, Numerologists, agree that

through the study of numbers, we can uncover hidden aspects of ourselves and

the universe. Only recently it was documented that many Psychologists and

Psychiatrists were looking into the study of numerology and astrology to

help them to uncover specific psychological problems.
