JRRTolkieN (1892-1973).

English novelist and scholar who achieved fame with his richly inventive epic trilogy The Lord of the Rings (1954-55). The work consists of The Fellowship of the Ring, The Two Towers, and The Return of the King. This remarkable work by the mid-1960s had become, especially in its appeal to young people, a sociocultural phenomenon.
