Central tendancy is the term statisticians use for any StatistiC that you could quote as representative of an entire DataSet.

The most commonly used measures of central tendancy are the

MeaN, the sum of all data divided by the number of data in the SeT

MediaN, the value that separates the highest half from the lowest half of the SeT of data

MoDe, the most common value in the SeT of data
