Ascii_Art

Basically, Ascii Art consists of pictures which are created without using graphic elements. They are "non-graphical graphics". Its palette is limited to the symbols and characters that is available to you on your (QWERTYAZERTY/etc..)- keyboard.

The simplest forms of Ascii Art are the Smiley and its kin, little two or three character combinations for expressing emotion in text. :)

Example of Ascii Art

Ascii Art is an outgrowth of signatures attached to

email or newsgroup messages.

Animated ascii art is possible using ANSI exscape sequences

to change text colors, position of cursor on the screen, and

text attributes.
